I offer a confidential and safe place for you to talk about your life and anything you may find confusing, painful or uncomfortable.

People come to counselling for a variety of reasons to address major life changes such as divorce, bereavement, depression and most people are just struggling with common everyday issues.

Whatever the reason it takes courage to attend counselling, and together we can explore the issues that brought you to counselling and work to promote empowerment, improve relationships and reduce emotional suffering.

Grief is a natural but devastating process.

Grief is like waves on the beach. You can be standing in water up to your knees and feel that you can cope, and then suddenly a big wave comes and knocks you off your feet.

Bereavement affects people in different ways. There is no right or wrong way to feel.

Domestic Abuse

Domestic abuse can come in many forms, including physical, sexual, emotional and financial. The fact remains that it has the same damaging effect to those who are victims of it.

I understand and know how difficult it can be just to make that phone call to get support.

Surviving domestic abuse and healing from domestic violence does not usually happen from one day to the next – the leaving can.

Remember – each day you get through you are a survivor, no longer a victim.

Counselling helps us work through both the short term and long term effects of abuse, enabling us to learn and grow from our experience.

Low self esteem

Self-esteem is how you think and feel about yourself, this may be positive, negative or move between the two points. This usually dictates how you live your life and the decisions you make – and how you view others too.

The more positive feelings you have about yourself, the higher your self-esteem, the more negative feelings you have, the lower your self-esteem is.

Working to improve your self-esteem takes time and effort, it requires courage and honesty to confront the things in yourself that you don’t like but long term it is a worthwhile task. This should help you to feel better about yourself and your life.


Anxiety is not a disease it is something we create. We create our own anxiety because we’ve learned to live more fearfully and stressfully than others. At the root of anxiety lie unhealthy beliefs, thoughts, actions, and behaviours.

Since knowledge is power, and especially as it helps anxiety recovery, a counsellors professional insight can be vital to lasting recovery.

• Where I know that serious injury or harm will be caused to another individual/or the client themselves.
• Child abuse has been disclosed to me.
• I know that a miscarriage of justice will occur.
• I am summonsed by a Court of Law.
• Terrorist acts have been disclosed.
